SEPTEMBER, 2005 St. Augustine to Cedar Key, Florida
Where else in the forty-eight contigious states but Florida can you see the sun rise and set in the same day...on the water?
The Cruise Across Florida began Friday afternoon, as SSCC members gathered in St. Augustine.
After goody bags were handed out, and Jim Broady presented a couple gifts, the party moved to Harry's Seafood Grill.
After an early wake up, there was a ten-mile cruise to the beach, and photos were taken as the sun rose over the ocean.
After breakfast, the cruise went south to Crescent Beach, and then west to the Bulls Hit Potato Chip Factory, where everyone was treated to a tour of the factory, as well as the museum.
That was followed by a brief stop in Palatka, then off to the middle of nowhere...Interlachen, for a delicious BBQ lunch.
From there, the ride continued into Cedar Key, where the cruisers took more photos as then sun set over the Gulf.
A dinner at Frog's Landing followed, along with a unplanned pool party later in the evening.
Sunday morning, there was breakfast at Cook's Restaurant, followed by a couple more photo op's, and then everyone headed east.
It was a most unique and memorable weekend!
