 JULY, 2005 Fairfax, Virginia
On the hottest day of the year, Keith and Julie, Phil and Nancy, Cecil, Ron, and Barry met in Jacksonville, and headed north 400+ miles to Fayetteville. Rob, determined to have new wheels and tires for the trip, met us there.
No trip north would be complete without stopping at JR's and South of the Border, and we did both. Somewhere south of our destination, an accident closed I-95, and we took to the two-laner's.
We arrived in Fairfax, made plans for dinner, got caught in a major thunderstorm, spent about 45 minutes in the hotel without electricity (more for Ron!), and still made it to the lounge for cocktail hour!
We cleaned our Cougar's more than once, ate more junk food than we should have, renewed friendships...and made lots of new ones...stayed up way too late, and on awards night, found that the SSCC received more than a fair share.
The Delmarva Cougar Club is to be commended for putting on an excellent event!
